A venting skylight enables any building to embrace the best of what nature has to offer. Opening for maximum fresh air, the manual venting skylight contributes to a building’s proper moisture balance and comfort level by allowing stale, humid air to be released creating a “passive air conditioner” or “chimney effect”. This effect releases hot air accumulating at the ceiling while bringing cooler, fresh air in through windows, in turn, reducing electrical needs for A/C and allowing fresh air to circulate through the home. Venting skylights, also known as operable skylights or retractable skylights can operate manually or by a motor as per the customers needs. Rain sensors and remote control options including thermostats can also be integrated into the skylight system.
